OPTIMUM GENETICS
Cross breeding allows us to get the best traits out of all of our cattle. We find that this adds to the quality of our beef. Our black angus cross cattle also have the ability to finish at lighter weights.
OUR HERD
We have beef calves that have been born and raised on our ranch and leases. We strive to produce the best quality beef for our customers. Our herd is breed and maintained to the highest of standards so that our customers can enjoy the beef they purchase from us.
We sell our beef by the whole, 1/2 or 1/4. You buy a live animal from us then we will facilitate all butchering for you. Your meat is processed, cut and wrapped to your custom specifications at a USDA approved facility.
Pricing is as follows:
Live weight varies by animal size (sizes range from 1000 to 1300+ lbs) The cost of the steer is paid to us. We accept cash or checks.
Custom cut and wrap fees are $.90/lb for butcher paper or $1.00/lb for vacuum sealed. This is charged by the hanging weight*, unless you have special requests for sausage or other specialty processing. The fee is paid to the butcher shop. They accept cash, checks, or credit cards.
There is a $100 harvest/clean/transport fee for the whole animal (1/4 - $25.00, 1/2 - $50.00), which is paid to the harvest people.
The final amount of meat for your freezer is approx. 50%-80% of the hanging weight*.
*Hanging Weight is defined as the carcass weight minus the head, hide and entrails. This is approx. 50%-62% of live weight.
You are buying direct from the farmer and have the choice of all the cuts for your family will enjoy.
You also get extra health benefits and the knowledge of knowing where your meat is coming from and what is has been eating.
Place a reservation now for a whole, half or quarter beef; a deposit of $300 is required for a whole beef, $150 for a 1/2, and $75 for a 1/4.
What exactly does "grass-fed" mean? To us, grass-fed means the animals are fed no grains and no starches - never at any point. With the obvious exception of mother's milk when they are calves, our cattle thrive with a diet composed of only:
With careful management of the grazing pastures, we are able to provide excellent and abundant forage-based nutrition to our cattle year-round.
We will custom grain finish an animal a customer on request. The cost is dependent on how long they will be on grain and what kind of grain.
Also, our cattle receive constant access to minerals, salt and fresh, clean water.
